Job summary

Collectors Universe, Inc. is seeking a senior backend software engineer to strengthen our cloud-based platform and microservices ecosystem.

You’ll design and deliver features end-to-end, optimize APIs, and partner with product and design teams to improve the customer experience for collectors worldwide. The role emphasizes Python, AWS, and data modeling, with hands-on work on relational and NoSQL databases, containerization, and infrastructure as code.

Qualifications

7+ years of software engineering experience backend development, with microservices and event-driven architectures.
Strong Python proficiency and solid data modeling for relational and NoSQL databases.
5+ years building solutions on AWS (Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, API Gateway).
Experience with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).
Experience with IaC (CDK/CloudFormation or Terraform).
Ability to translate business requirements into clean, extensible APIs and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Contribute to cloud-based software architectures and deliver complete features end-to-end.
Design APIs and participate in the full software development lifecycle.
Collaborate with product/design teams to improve customer experience for collectors.
Analyze existing applications/databases and identify optimization opportunities.
Develop and execute unit/integration tests and contribute to technical docs.
