Job summary

Realtor.com is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer – News & Insights in Austin to own core Node.js services, manage cloud infrastructure, and drive AI-powered hyperlocal content initiatives. You will collaborate with CMS, frontend teams, and product stakeholders to shape scalable backend solutions for high-traffic content platforms.

You will lead design and implementation, ensure performance, reliability, and security, and advance DevOps practices across deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with a strong backend and production ownership.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, AWS hosting, and monitoring/logging.
• Experience with GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of caching strategies for high-traffic platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own, design, and scale Node.js microservices and API surfaces.
• Lead backend ownership for hyperlocal content platform AI integration.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and deployments (AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with product managers and frontend engineers in Agile ceremonies.
• Drive observability, logging, monitoring, and health checks.
