Job summary

Realtor.com® is seeking a senior software engineer to lead design and delivery for complex problems across our squads in Austin. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product, design, and analytics, and prototype innovative technologies to drive high-impact outcomes.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software development experience.
2+ years contributing to system architecture and design.
Experience with Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, NumPy, Pandas), React, Node.js, GraphQL.
Experience with cloud systems (AWS preferred).
Knowledge of data platforms and pipelines (Snowflake & Airflow preferred).
Experience with relational or non-relational databases.
Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent experience.
Interest in AI/ML and willingness to learn/apply emerging tech.
Experience delivering high value to customers quickly with feedback.
Experience evaluating trade-offs between design approaches.
Software engineering best practices (testing, code reviews, documentation).
Experience developing scalable systems.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery for the ambiguous/complex problem space in the squad.
Provide guidance on system architecture and design.
Develop solutions that are high quality, scalable, and reliable.
Work collaboratively in squads with PMs, Designers, Analysts, and Engineers.
Mentor and develop a team of engineers.
Investigate and prototype technologies for new innovations.
Be self-directed and drive toward solutions with little guidance.
