Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a senior backend engineer to design and implement Agentic AI systems that power customer support and compliance at scale, while building a platform to enable other domains to leverage Agentic AI.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, mentor teammates, and deliver production-grade code in Golang, shaping the Coinbase Platform strategy and execution with a bias toward creating delightful customer experiences and robust security.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of backend software engineering experience with Golang or equivalent languages.
• Experience getting LLM-based applications to production.
• Proven track record delivering scalable solutions impacting large customer flows.
• Ability to architect and develop solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.
• Strong knowledge of building distributed systems at massive scale.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders from varied technical backgrounds.
• Demonstrated drive and perseverance to achieve ambitious goals.
• Experience responsibly using generative AI tools and copilots in daily workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Agentic AI systems powering Coinbase’s customer support and compliance processes.
• Design a platform (primitives and orchestration) for others to leverage Agentic AI.
• Interact with stakeholders across organizations building Coinbase products and financial operations.
• Contribute to shaping the strategy and execution path of Coinbase Platform.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables with technical expertise.
• Mentor and train team members on design techniques and coding standards.
• Write high quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.
