Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Platform Core Automation team to design and deliver AI-powered customer support and compliance automation. You will own LLM orchestration, production deployment, and monitoring to reduce resolution times and costs.

You'll build scalable backend in Python and Golang, collaborate with CX, Compliance, and product teams, and mentor others while shaping guardrails, grounding, and data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with production services and microservices.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-based applications or AI/ML systems in production.
• Python and Golang proficiency with API integrations into workflows.
• Track record delivering end-to-end projects with measurable impact.
• Experience with data pipelines and large-scale unstructured data sources.
• Responsible AI practices with human oversight and efficiency gains.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of agentic AI systems powering customer support and compliance automation.
• Build scalable backend infrastructure in Python and Golang for AI workloads and model integration.
• Drive end-to-end project execution, balancing latency, accuracy, cost, and reliability.
• Collaborate with Customer Experience, Compliance, and product engineering to identify automation opportunities.
• Lead code reviews, mentor engineers on AI system design, and participate in on-call rotations.
