Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a senior backend software engineer to design and implement Agentic AI systems powering customer support and compliance, and to build a platform enabling other domains to automate processes.

You will interact with stakeholders across the company, mentor teammates, write high-quality code, and help shape Coinbase Platform strategy while delivering scalable solutions for a rapidly growing user base.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Experience getting LLM-based applications to production
• Proven track record delivering impactful solutions for large customer flows
• Architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
• Strong knowledge of building distributed systems that scale
• Excellent communication with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated drive and perseverance to achieve ambitious goals
• Passion for enabling open financial systems and responsible use of generative AI tools

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Agentic AI systems powering Coinbase’s customer support and compliance processes
• Design a platform (primitives and orchestration) for other domains to automate processes
• Interact with stakeholders across organizations building Coinbase products and handling financial operations
• Contribute to shaping the strategy and execution of Coinbase Platform
• Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables with technical input
• Mentor and train team members on design techniques and coding standards
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs
