Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Platform Core Automation team to build AI infrastructure and agentic systems that automate customer support and compliance tasks at scale. You will reduce resolution times and costs by delivering end-to-end LLM-driven solutions across millions of interactions.

You will own the design and delivery of LLM-powered systems, grounding techniques, and robust pipelines, collaborating with cross-functional partners to identify automation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with microservices architecture and production services.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-based applications or AI/ML systems in production, including prompt engineering or RAG.
• Proficiency in Python and Golang, with experience integrating third-party AI models into production workflows.
• Track record delivering end-to-end projects with measurable business impact in ambiguous spaces.
• Experience building data pipelines and working with large-scale unstructured data sources.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of agentic AI systems powering Coinbase's customer support and compliance automation, from LLM orchestration to deployment and monitoring.
• Build scalable, secure backend infrastructure in Python and Golang that serves AI workloads and model integration pipelines.
• Drive end-to-end project execution on complex AI initiatives, balancing latency, accuracy, cost, and reliability.
• Partner with Customer Experience, Compliance, and product engineering to identify high-impact automation opportunities and translate pain points into AI-powered solutions.
• Lead code reviews, mentor engineers on AI system design patterns, and participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
