Job summary

ShopFully is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to own the backend systems powering our iOS and Android apps. You’ll join a cross-functional team, design scalable services, and ensure security and reliability while guiding technical decisions.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to end-to-end SDLC, and explore AI-assisted development tools. The role offers a flexible hybrid model with remote options from Italy and Spain within Europe.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend or full-stack development experience.
• Proven experience with AWS services.
• Strong databases experience (SQL/NoSQL); Docker and Kubernetes.
• Event-driven systems and messaging experience.
• Hands-on system design with production ops.
• Solid CI/CD and testing practices; clean code.
• Experience with AI tools in software workflows.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
• Proficiency with Git and modern collaboration workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve scalable backend systems within a microservices architecture.
• Own end-to-end backend service architecture and APIs.
• Translate product requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Lead software development lifecycle from design to production support.
• Write clean, well-tested code applying SOLID and CI/CD practices.
