Job summary

Floor & Decor is seeking a Senior Developer to join our Corporate Systems/Merchandising IT team. You will own full lifecycle development, delivering scalable Java/Spring Boot services for store associates and SSC users, and leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate prototypes into production-grade software with strong security and quality.

The role emphasizes distributed systems, databases, and a fast-paced environment where you collaborate with stakeholders to craft reliable technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Advanced backend development in Java/Spring Boot using modern Java features.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other SQL databases and query tuning.
• Strong grounding in microservices and distributed systems design.
• Proficiency with REST APIs, SFTP, and pub-sub messaging.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and rapid prototyping to production.
• Agile experience with Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Own full lifecycle delivery from requirements to deployment.
• Apply AI-assisted development while enforcing tests, security, and scalability.
• Resolve user-reported issues in ServiceNow within SLA.
• Identify risks and document upgrade recommendations.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Contribute to technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and dev standards.
