Job summary

SherlockTalent is hiring a Backend Dev & Infrastructure DevOps Engineer to own the data layer and the containerized infrastructure. The role emphasizes serverless functions, per-client databases, and strong uptime guarantees.

You will implement authentication, enforce data isolation, and lead CI/CD, observability, and resilient deployment strategies across AWS or Azure environments. Remote-centric but integrated with Miami-based governance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years backend/infrastructure experience, including 2+ years on AWS Lambda or Azure Functions in production
• Hands-on container orchestration in production
• Proficient in Java, Python, or Go (not Node.js)
• Experience with document and relational databases (Mongo/ DynamoDB and SQL)
• AWS or Azure load-balancing and multi-tenant deployment experience
• Financial-services or other high-compliance backend infra experience

Responsibilities

• Build serverless backend functions end-to-end (AWS Lambda or Azure Functions)
• Develop data access layer for per-client databases (Mongo/SQL)
• Implement authentication/authorization mechanisms
• Enforce data silo boundaries to keep clients' data separate
• Define containerization strategy (Docker/ECS/EKS)
• Configure load balancing per client
• Deliver CI/CD pipelines, observability, and resilient systems to meet uptime targets
