The role emphasizes scalability, reliability, performance, and clean engineering practices across cloud environments. Ideal candidates have deep CS fundamentals and real-world experience with distributed systems at scale, balancing consistency, availability, and latency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Six or more years of professional backend engineering experience, with significant time on distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Go, Scala, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale distributed backend systems using Java, Go, Scala, or similar high-performance languages.
• Architect data partitioning, replication, and consistency strategies for different workloads.
• Build resilient APIs and event-driven services with observability, idempotency, and graceful degradation.
• Optimize systems for latency, throughput, and cost with profiling and load testing.
• Lead architecture reviews, design discussions, and trade-off analyses.
• Implement robust failure-handling patterns including retries and circuit breakers.
