Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate large-scale distributed services powering critical workloads. You will shape core platforms, ensure scalability, reliability, and efficient operation in a distributed environment.

The role emphasizes deep CS fundamentals, practical experience with distributed systems, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to balance consistency, availability, and latency while maintaining strong engineering

Qualifications

• Six or more years of professional backend engineering experience, with distributed systems focus.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Go, Scala, or similar.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts, including CAP trade-offs.
• Hands-on experience with high-throughput messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Experience operating systems at scale, including capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Strong SQL skills with relational and NoSQL data stores.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and mentorship skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale distributed backend systems.
• Architect data partitioning, replication, and consistency strategies.
• Build resilient APIs and event-driven services with observability.
• Optimize latency, throughput, and cost with profiling and load testing.
• Lead architecture reviews and design discussions.
• Implement failure-handling patterns like retries and circuit breakers.
• Design and operate scalable data stores (relational, NoSQL, search).
• Build observability with logs, metrics, and tracing.
• Drive incident response and post-incident learning.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and promote code quality.
• Collaborate with SRE and platform teams to improve reliability.
