Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Senior API Developer to design, build, and operate large-scale backend services powering critical workloads. Focus on scalability, reliability, performance, and clean engineering practices.

Operate distributed systems at scale with strong trade-offs between consistency, availability, and latency. The role requires 6+ years of backend experience, proficiency in Java/Go/Scala, and hands-on work with Kafka and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Six or more years of professional backend engineering experience, with significant time on distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Go, Scala, or similar.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts, including consensus, replication, and CAP trade-offs.
• Hands‑on experience with high-throughput message systems such as Kafka.
• Experience operating systems at scale, including capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with both relational and NoSQL data stores.
• Hands‑on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and mentorship skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale distributed backend systems using Java, Go, Scala, or similar high-performance languages.
• Architect data partitioning, replication, and consistency strategies.
• Build resilient APIs and event-driven services with observability and idempotency.
• Optimize systems for latency, throughput, and cost using profiling and load testing.
• Lead architecture reviews, design discussions, and trade-off analyses.
• Implement robust failure-handling patterns including retries and circuit breakers.
• Design and operate data stores at scale across relational, key-value, and NoSQL types.
• Build observability with logs, metrics, and tracing.
• Drive incident response and post-incident learning for critical services.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and promote code quality and operational rigor.
• Partner with SRE and platform teams to improve reliability.
• Contribute to long-term architecture and platform strategy.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for onboarding and operations.
