Job summary

Big Wave Digital - USA is seeking a backend product engineer to own end-to-end architecture in a scalable, AI-enabled SaaS platform. You will design systems, guide AI agents, and collaborate with product to ship features that move the business.

You should be a strong communicator with 5–15 years in product engineering, expert in Node.js and TypeScript, and comfortable working in a distributed, high-throughput environment. Remote-first with Seattle location preference.

Qualifications

• Ownership of the technical design of a major system end to end.
• Defined problems, made product decisions and shipped impactful features.
• Expert in Node.js and TypeScript with backend focus.
• Distributed systems and messaging in production environments.
• Experience shipping with AI coding agents or agent tooling is a plus.
• Growth-stage background with enterprise traction preferred.
• 5 to 15 years in product engineering.
• Product-minded and strong communicator.
• SaaS, supply chain, logistics, or B2B data exchange experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take major product initiatives from problem statement to production architecture.
• Direct AI agents to help build it and review outputs as rigorously as a senior colleague.
• Mentor other engineers and collaborate with product to ensure what ships moves the business.
