Job summary

LVT is seeking a Staff Backend Software Engineer to lead backend architecture and scalable cloud services from our American Fork headquarters. You will design resilient services, mentor engineers, and elevate development standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Expect to own API design, implement high-velocity Node.js/TypeScript code, and drive modern CI/CD practices to keep our backend robust and future-ready.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• 7+ years in backend systems, cloud services, and API development.
• 3+ years with Node.js and TypeScript in production.
• Experience in API design with REST and GraphQL.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership across backend architecture and design standards.
• Ship high-impact backend code in Node.js/TypeScript for critical systems.
• Elevate engineering standards, reliability, and performance.
• Optimize CI/CD lifecycles and developer tooling for speed.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps to translate vision into specs.
• Resolve complex edge cases and ensure system uptime and resilience.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and drive architectural reviews.
• Pioneer emerging technologies to improve the backend platform.
