Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Backend AI Software Integration Engineer to build a multi-tenant GenAI Security Platform. You will focus on Python backend development, middleware APIs, data ingestion, and integration hooks across enterprise AI pipelines and partner architectures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Software Engineering or Systems Integration with backend focus
• Production-level Python for asynchronous services and microservices
• Experience building enterprise APIs (REST, gRPC, WebSockets) and API gateways
• Experience mapping and standardizing data formats
• Experience building middleware, webhooks, and retry logic
• Experience integrating LLM APIs, vector storage, and agentic protocols
• Ability to create technical architecture blueprints and secure AI workloads
• Testing with PyTest, unittest and distributed systems validation
• Excellent communication and customer-focused collaboration
• BS/MS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance backend microservices in Python
• Develop API endpoints, webhooks, and data ingestion hooks
• Build middleware and AI gateway integrations with security controls
• Create architectural diagrams and integration blueprints
• Develop automated AI red-teaming pipelines and expose telemetry APIs
• Provide partner onboarding documentation and SDKs
• Travel may be required
