Job summary

Mobi.AI is seeking a Senior Backend / AI Applications Engineer in the US to design, build, and own production backend services and AI-driven applications powering our travel AI products.

You will work with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver scalable APIs, secure integrations, and robust tests, using AI coding assistants to accelerate development while maintaining quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong Python skills and ownership of production backend services.
• Experience with automated Python tests (pytest) and API tests.
• Proficiency with backend APIs and RESTful services.
• Experience with AWS compute and storage services (Lambda, DynamoDB).
• Experience using AI coding assistants and agents to build software.
• Ability to guide AI tools and maintain code quality.
• Understanding MCP and Agent frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain MCP services and agent applications.
• Build and operate Python APIs, integrations, and AWS infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and ship features.
• Use AI coding assistants across the development lifecycle to accelerate delivery.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and performance.
• Review code and implement best practices for quality and maintainability.
• Build automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end).
• Develop scenario-based agent evaluations with clear outcomes and checks.
• Stay current with trends in computer science and AI.
