Job summary

LRS Consulting Services in Lake Forest, IL is seeking a Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer on a direct hire basis. This hands-on role focuses on Azure networking, hybrid connectivity, and infrastructure automation to design scalable, secure, and cost-aware solutions for a growing financial services client.

You will author infrastructure as code with Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates, drive cloud modernization initiatives, mentor teammates, and partner with Information Security to implement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in infrastructure, network, systems, or cloud engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on Microsoft Azure infrastructure experience.
• Experience designing Azure networking (VNets, routing, DNS, VPN/ExpressRoute) and hybrid connectivity.
• IaC experience with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM; scripting in PowerShell.
• Willing to work onsite in Lake Forest, IL 3 days per week and authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage Azure networking including hub-and-spoke VNets, ExpressRoute, and Hybrid DNS.
• Lead hybrid connectivity between Azure and on-premises environments.
• Author infrastructure as code using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates; automate operations with PowerShell.
• Drive Azure modernization, cloud migrations, and platform improvements.
• Integrate Azure with on-premises systems, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.
• Optimize performance, reliability, scalability, and cost; enforce cloud security practices.
• Mentor team members and act as a technical advisor across the organization.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and advise on fit for the environment.
