Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable Microsoft Azure infrastructure supporting enterprise IT workloads and modern apps.

The role emphasizes IaC, Azure networking, backup and disaster recovery, and close collaboration with development teams on CI/CD pipelines; hybrid work arrangement is available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience operating production cloud environments and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support Azure infrastructure including VMs, storage, backup, DR, and core services.
• Own reliability, performance, and lifecycle management of production Azure environments.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure incidents across compute, storage, and networking.
• Build and manage Azure infrastructure using IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Promote repeatable, version-controlled deployments with peer reviews.
• Design secure Azure network architectures including Private Endpoints and Private Link.
