Job summary

Accelera Solutions in Chantilly, VA seeks a senior Azure Cloud Engineer to lead DoD IL5/IL6 cloud deployments. You will design, implement, and secure Azure IaaS/PaaS environments, leverage Azure CLI/PowerShell, and mentor junior engineers within a hybrid on-site team.

You will work with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliant architectures, maintain documentation, and optimize cost while upholding DoD policies. A active Secret clearance is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance preferred, or ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• IAT Level II certification required.
• 15+ years of relevant experience; Bachelor's degree may substitute 5 years of experience.
• 7+ years of Linux experience.
• Extensive hands-on Azure experience (min 5 years).
• Deep Azure networking knowledge for complex architectures.
• Security-focused design and implementation of Azure solutions.
• Ability to design, implement, integrate and troubleshoot Azure solutions.
• Experience with multiple design/implementation methodologies in Azure.
• Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-centric approach with strong cross-team collaboration.
• Excellent communication across stakeholders.
• Azure automation via CLI/PowerShell, Python.
• Leadership and mentoring of engineers.

Responsibilities

• Architect, plan, and implement Azure Cloud Infrastructure for DoD IL5/IL6 with best practices.
• Provide engineering and admin support for Azure IaaS/PaaS, Linux background required.
• Draft and maintain documentation for the EITaaS Cloud environment (diagrams, assessments, plans).
• Oversee deployment within Azure using Linux CLI, Azure CLI, PowerShell, Python.
• Lead Azure network engineering: NGFWs, routing, DNS, IPSec, ACLs, etc.
• Ensure traffic ingress/egress via approved paths.
• Deploy, troubleshoot Linux-based environments (RHEL, containers, VN appliances).
• Configure Azure resources following IL5/IL5 requirements.
• Provide leadership and mentoring during design and implementation of projects.
• Creative solutions across technologies to meet security standards.
• Cost monitoring and optimization for Cloud Infrastructure.
