Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to lead modernization of a healthcare data platform. Remote work is offered with a focus on designing AWS-based data architectures for scalable reporting and analytics.

You will evaluate AWS data services, implement CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with a C#/.Net team to ensure data flows from EDI pipelines into the new data layer. A strong AWS background and healthcare data experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in software or data engineering with a strong AWS focus
• Proven experience architecting cloud data platform migrations in production environments
• Experience delivering reporting or analytics solutions for non-technical users
• Strong SQL skills and ability to design relational query layers over XML/JSON data

Responsibilities

• Lead the next phase of the healthcare data platform modernization
• Move from MSSQL XML object store to cloud-native AWS architecture for SQL-based reporting
• Design and build the reporting layer for business users to run SQL queries
• Architect migration of XML data from MSSQL to AWS platform with optimal storage formats
