Job summary

Peregrine Advisors in the Washington, DC area is seeking a data architect to shape the data lake and governance for a federal‑focused platform on AWS. You will model data across S3 Iceberg, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB, designing scalable schemas and secure access controls.

You will collaborate with engineers and executives, translate complex data concepts into concrete designs, and drive data quality, lineage, and auditability in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data architecture and data modeling experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Schema design across a data lake and relational stores (S3 with Iceberg, Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
• AWS cloud data architecture (Glue, EMR, Lambda).
• Data governance and security (Apache Ranger or comparable access controls).
• Data modeling tools (ER/Studio or IBM InfoSphere).
• Strong stakeholder communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Basic proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel.
