Peregrine Advisors LLC seeks a data architect to shape the data architecture and models for a federal data-lake on AWS (S3, Apache Iceberg, Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB). The role requires ownership, precision, and the ability to explain designs to engineers and executives in a regulated environment.

You will design scalable models, govern access, and drive improvements across the data estate while collaborating with stakeholders across teams in a hybrid Washington, DC area role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data architecture and data modeling experience
• Bachelor's degree required
• Schema design across a data lake and relational stores: S3 with Apache Iceberg tables, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB
• AWS cloud data architecture (Glue, EMR, Lambda)
• Data governance and security (Apache Ranger or comparable access controls)
• Data modeling tools (ER/Studio or IBM InfoSphere)
• Stakeholder communication with technical and non-technical audiences
• Basic proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel

Responsibilities

• Shape the data architecture and data models for a large federal data-lake platform on AWS
• Design models and schemas for new and migrated sources, and reduce redundancy
• Reorganize the live ecosystem to protect integrity and accessibility under governed access
• Deliver new capabilities, tools, and lines of business as needed
