Job summary

Full Tilt Data, LLC is seeking a Data Architect to lead enterprise data and integration initiatives for a federal government program. You will guide the design of data models, build scalable AWS-based data lake solutions, and define governance and security practices.

You will manage a team of data professionals, review complex SQL and Python code, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with federal security standards while delivering architectural milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or software engineering.
• Hands-on experience designing data structures and solutions in AWS, including data lake environments.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, including code review and performance tuning.
• Experience designing and implementing data governance, including cataloging, lineage, data quality, and access controls.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and API design.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, including supervising direct reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting technical recommendations to management.
• Candidates must be able to pass a background check equivalent to a Federal Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and refine data structures across all environments, including an AWS-based data lake.
• Create high-level architectural specifications and resolve integration issues across platforms.
• Design and maintain data governance processes, including RBAC and data quality metrics.
• Develop and review complex SQL and Python code and serve as the program's data SME.
• Design and support ETL/ELT pipelines, data streams, APIs, and data intake processes.
• Support analysts in Databricks, managing access and curated datasets.
• Ensure all data processes meet client security and compliance requirements.
• Assess risk and impact of planned system changes.
• Evaluate data needs and vendor options, and build proofs-of-concept solutions.
• Contribute technical content to proposals and guide Agile/SAFe teams.
