Job summary

Lyric is hiring a Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and scale cloud-based data platforms powering analytics and AI. You will work on AWS technologies (Aurora, RDS, S3, Snowflake) and partner with data, analytics, and product teams.

You will ensure reliability, performance, and cost efficiency, while mentoring junior engineers and supporting on-call incident response. This is a remote role open to US-based candidates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Cloud based Data Infrastructure or related roles.
• Minimum of five (5) years hands-on experience with AWS Data Services (Aurora, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, Glue, Athena).
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL/Aurora and Snowflake or similar modern data platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL and scripting or programming languages (Python, Shell, etc.).
• Hands-on experience using Terraform and GitLab to build and operate CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure automation.
• Demonstrated experience optimizing database performance and operating high-throughput data systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure on AWS using technologies such as Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS, S3, and Snowflake.
• Operate core data systems across ingestion, transformation, storage, and orchestration layers.
• Ensure high levels of reliability, performance, availability, and cost efficiency of data platforms and environments.
• Apply and promote best practices in data modeling, observability, infrastructure as code (IaC), and CI/CD automation.
• Support and scale distributed data systems (e.g., PostgreSQL/Aurora, Snowflake, Kafka, caching) across environments.
• Partner with application, analytics, and AI teams to enable efficient and self-service data access and usage.
• Participate in design reviews, contribute to technical standards, and mentor junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvements in data platform operations.
• Support operational excellence by participating in on-call rotations and off-hours incident response when required.
