Job summary

Boston University Advancement seeks an experienced Associate Vice President, Health and Life Sciences Advancement to lead philanthropic strategy across medicine, public health, dentistry, rehabilitation sciences, social work, and natural sciences. You will oversee senior donor engagement, senior leadership communication, and multi-school collaboration to secure transformational gifts.

Reporting to the Vice President, this role drives interdisciplinary initiatives, engages deans and faculty, and

Qualifications

10+ years in advancement, fundraising, development, or related field with major gifts.
Experience developing and executing strategic fundraising plans.
Proven ability to cultivate, solicit, and steward high-capacity donors.
Strong leadership, staff development, and collaboration.
Advanced project management and organizational skills.
Experience in higher education fundraising preferred within medicine or health sciences.

Responsibilities

Lead the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of leadership, principal, and transformational gift prospects across the Health & Life Sciences portfolio.
Develop and present fundraising strategies supporting the School of Medicine, School of Public Health, and related health sciences priorities.
Lead interdisciplinary fundraising initiatives and Big Ideas that connect multiple schools, centers, and institutes.
Lead portfolio-level planning, donor pipelines, and campaign priority advancement across the academic ecosystem.
