Job summary

SompoRe in the United States is seeking an AVP, Accident & Health Reinsurance Underwriter to lead complex A&H treaty placements and expand broker relationships across North America.

You will underwrite A&H treaty business, perform in-depth risk analyses, negotiate terms with clients and brokers, and collaborate across lines to meet growth and profitability objectives while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of A&H underwriting or broker market experience.
• Proven proficiency in specialty underwriting and risk analysis.
• Exceptional communication, client service, and negotiation abilities.
• Industry designations such as ARe and/or CPCU are preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of software tools, including AI, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and manage broker relationships to drive organic premium growth.
• Manage underwriting and client management across A&H treaty portfolios.
• Underwrite A&H treaty business within established authority and guidelines; achieve growth/profitability.
• Represent SompoRe through on-site visits and industry events.
• Provide timely decisions and solutions, conduct risk analysis using internal models.
• Participate in special projects supportingCorporate objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to support business needs.
