Job summary

VIAVI Solutions, LLC in Lenexa, Kansas, seeks a Senior Technical Business Development Manager, Avionics Test, Americas, to grow sales of our avionics, fuel, GPS, and IFF test solutions to military and commercial aerospace customers, with a primary focus on the US.

This technical, customer-facing role leads the Americas BD team, reports to the Avionics Test Product Line Director, and offers relocation assistance. Remote work may be considered for exceptional candidates.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on avionics experience in military or commercial settings.
• Experience working with military customers in a technical or business development role.
• 5+ years in business development, applications engineering, or management, including coaching teams.
• Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel ~50% primarily in the US and Canada.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field (preferred).
• Experience with IFF and aircraft fuel systems is a plus.
• ITAR requires U.S. Person status.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Americas business development team.
• Develop Americas strategy for Avionics Test by market analysis and opportunity identification.
• Engage military program offices, airlines, and repair stations to shape test requirements.
• Build relationships with customers and represent VIAVI at technical meetings and trade shows.
• Demonstrate VIAVI test equipment on site and provide training and pre/post-sales support.
• Influence product requirements with customer feedback to product management and engineering.
• Support Avionics Test product line management projects as assigned.
