Job summary

VIAVI Solutions Inc. is seeking a Senior Test Engineer in Lenexa, KS to design, develop, and execute verification tests for RF and electronic test equipment used in avionics and related systems.

The role requires translating requirements into test plans, building automated tests, and working with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust verification and quality throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in test/verification or related roles.
• Develop and maintain test software, scripts, and automation.
• Ability to read and understand large electronics schematics.
• Understanding of RF equipment and measurement test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Design Verification Tests (DVT) for RF and electronic test equipment.
• Translate product requirements into verification plans, procedures, and test cases.
• Develop automated test solutions to improve coverage and efficiency.
• Configure and operate RF/test equipment (signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
• Perform RF measurements (frequency, gain, noise, modulation) as required.
• Analyze test data, identify failures, and work with teams on root cause.
• Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and RF subsystems interactions.
• Document test results and provide technical reports and recommendations.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input on testability and requirements.
• Support verification activities through prototype to production readiness stages.
• Maintain test setups, configurations, and documentation.
