Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior avionics leader to drive shipside engineering for the New Glenn program. You will mentor engineers, lead integration, and ensure the avionics suite meets all requirements through rapid troubleshooting and design feedback.

The role emphasizes systems engineering rigor, cross‑functional collaboration across manufacturing, assembly, and test teams, and deep knowledge of aerospace standards. On-site in a U.S. facility with strong safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of avionics or integrated electronics systems experience.
  • 3+ years of technical leadership or team management supporting vehicle operations/integration activities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in avionics/integrated electronics systems architecture, performance, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong background in systems engineering, requirements, and verification.
  • Experience with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, DO-254, DO-178) and compliance processes or equivalents.
  • Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development: Guide activities of avionics shipside liaison engineers; foster technical excellence; mentor and train; manage performance, hiring, and resources.
  • Operational Support: Enable assembly, manufacturing, and integrated test teams through technical expertise, rapid troubleshooting, nonconformance triage, and design feedback.
  • Performance Verification: Confirm assembled vehicle and avionics suite meet engineering requirements and perform as designed.
  • Integration Leadership: Serve as escalation point for complex technical problems and primary technical resource for integration teams.
