Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer for the Collins Aerospace DQA team in Cedar Rapids, IA. This hybrid role aims to ensure design quality meets plans, standards, and regulatory requirements.

You will audit avionics programs, review artifacts, and drive improvements, with relocation assistance and US citizenship requirements.

Qualifications

Typically requires a University Degree with 8 years of related experience or an Advanced Degree with 5 years of experience.
Experience with industry and regulatory standards such as DO-178B/C, DO-330, DO-331, and AS9100D.
Experience with software planning, development, and verification processes.

Responsibilities

Audit avionics programs for compliance with plans, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Perform SOI audits from planning to certification.
Review requirements, software, and SOI artifacts for alignment with plans.
Document audit findings and drive resolution with engineering leadership.
Ensure teams follow defined plans and processes across development.
Tailor quality management activities to program needs and standards.
Collaborate to identify and resolve nonconformances and deviations.
Suggest process improvements to raise product quality.
Present quality findings to customers and regulators.
