Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking an Advanced Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, verify, and release avionics display software. You will lead feature decomposition, coordinate development tasks, and mentor junior engineers on a hybrid work schedule.

The role reports to the Sr Software Engineering Manager and requires strong problem-solving and collaboration skills. Ideal candidates have deep expertise in C++, embedded real-time environments, and software architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• 5 years of software development experience in embedded, real-time, or regulated environments.
• 5 years of hands-on C++ development in embedded/real-time systems (DEOS/RTOS or similar).
• Experience designing software architectures, OO designs, algorithms, data structures, and lifecycle processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute software engineering activities to meet requirements and schedules.
• Analyze, develop, and manage requirements and feature implementation across development tasks.
• Design, develop, integrate, test, and verify avionics display software and frameworks.
• Support build, integration, release, and delivery with compliance to certification requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development and customer acceptance.
• Communicate progress, risks, and corrective actions to stakeholders and leadership.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers.
