Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Sr Advanced Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, integration, verification, and release of software features for Avionics Displays systems and frameworks.

The role requires mentoring early-career engineers, leading feature decomposition, coordinating across software teams, and supporting program execution to meet customer requirements, certification standards, and quality goals.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute engineering project tasks to meet technical, quality, schedule, and customer requirements.
• Perform feature implementation, sub-task identification, and technical coordination across software development activities.
• Develop, analyze, and capture software and system requirements for assigned features and subsystems.
• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain software for Avionics Displays systems, algorithms, and application/framework-level functionality.
• Conduct testing, debugging, integration, and verification of software and systems to ensure compliance with product and project requirements.
• Support generating software builds, integration, and release activities to enable efficient software delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, cross-functional teams, quality, certification, program management, and other engineering disciplines.
• Support the completion of products to achieve certification and customer acceptance.
• Interface with internal and external customers to facilitate product development and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
• Communicate project status, technical progress, risks, and process updates to leadership and customers.
• Identify non-compliance issues and communicate audit findings, corrective actions, and technical impacts to relevant stakeholders.
• Identify, propose, and implement technical and process improvements to enhance engineering efficiency, quality, and project outcomes.
