Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks an experienced power electronics engineer to design advanced avionics power conversion systems. You will tackle diverse DC/DC and AC/DC topologies, optimize performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes aerospace standards, EMI/EMC, thermal management, magnetics design, and practical hands-on development with top power supply experts.

Qualifications

Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required with 5+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years experience.
Experience with various power levels and frequency ranges, DC/DC and AC/DC designs (topologies, components, control, packaging, etc.).
Experience with EMC/EMI, thermal stress, and other environmental issues and their impact on design methodology.
Knowledge in Power supply magnetics design; aerospace experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and develop power conversion systems for avionics projects.
Work on multiple power conversion topologies and frequency ranges (DC/DC, AC/DC).
