Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics PCB Layout Designer to join the ACE PCB design team. You will apply your expertise in digital, analog, mixed-signal, high-speed, RF and high-power PCB design to develop avionics board products for aerospace applications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of PCB layout and design in aerospace/defense.
• Experience creating and maintaining PCB libraries (symbols & footprints).
• Expert with Altium Designer Pro/365/Enterprise for PCB design.
• IPC-6012 Class 3 and IPC-7352 experience.
• HDI board design with fine-pitch BGA (FPGAs, processors, etc).
• High-Speed, High-Power, and Dense interconnect design experience.
• Routing multi-rail power delivery and thermal management.
• Strong communication and teamwork; able to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout high-performance, high-reliability aerospace PCBs.
• Develop and maintain eCAD libraries (footprints, symbols).
• Create layout files from schematics using Altium (Gerbers, FAB/ASY).
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Troubleshoot PCB design and layout issues.
• Contribute to PCB/PCBA design reviews with artifacts and DFM/DFT assessments.
• Define PCB development process improvements.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, firmware and software teams.
• Check quality of layout work of internal and external resources.
• Mentor junior layout resources on best practices.
