Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics PCB Layout Designer for its ACE PCB design team on Merritt Island. You will apply your expertise in digital, analog, and high‑speed PCB design to create reliable aerospace boards and maintain libraries.

Responsibilities include collaborating with cross‑functional teams, ensuring standards compliance, and mentoring junior staff. A minimum of 5 years in aerospace PCB design and Altium proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of PCB layout and design in aerospace/defense.
• Proficiency in Altium Designer.
• IPC-6012 Class 3 and IPC-7352 experience.
• HDI design with fine pitch BGA, thru-hole and microvias.
• U.S. citizenship or eligible status.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout high-performance PCBs for aerospace applications.
• Develop and maintain PCB libraries (footprints and symbols).
• Create detailed layout files from schematics (Gerbers, FAB/ASY).
• Ensure manufacturing practices meet industry standards and regulations.
• Troubleshoot layout issues and support design reviews.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians on best practices.
