Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an Avionics PCB Layout Designer to join the ACE PCB design team. You will apply digital, analog, and RF design knowledge to develop high‑reliability avionics PCBs for aerospace applications.

You will work with cross‑functional teams, maintain libraries, and ensure manufacturing readiness while mentoring junior layout resources and upholding industry standards and safety practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in PCB layout/design for aerospace/defense.
• Experience creating and maintaining PCB libraries (schematic symbols & footprints).
• Proficiency in Altium Designer Pro/365/Enterprise for PCB design (library and layout).
• IPC-6012 Class 3 and IPC-7352 knowledge.
• HDI design with fine pitch BGA and vias (through-hole, microvias).
• High‑Speed/High‑Density design with impedance control and signal integrity.
• Multi‑rail power delivery and thermal management constraints.
• Strong communication, leadership, and ability to work under pressure; US citizen or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout high-performance PCBs for aerospace applications.
• Develop and maintain corporate eCAD libraries (footprints and symbols).
• Create detailed layout files from schematics using Altium (Gerbers, FAB/ASY).
• Ensure design/manufacturing adheres to industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve PCB design/layout issues.
• Contribute to PCB/PCBA design reviews with artifacts and DFx assessments.
• Collaborate to define PCB development processes and checklists.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to meet design requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers on PCB design practices.
• Review quality of work of internal and external resources.
