Relativity Space is seeking a Staff Avionics Mechanical Engineer to own the design, development, and delivery of mechanical hardware for next-generation space science avionics. You’ll tackle enclosures, mounting structures, thermal accommodations, and interfaces to spacecraft systems, ensuring performance under launch and spaceflight environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in mechanical design, packaging, or thermal management for aerospace or ruggedized electronic systems.
• Proven ability to deliver mechanical systems from concept through qualification and flight.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent) and analysis tools for structural and thermal performance.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and delivery of mechanical hardware supporting next-generation space science avionics platforms.
• Ensure avionics can survive launch and space environments; solve thermal and structural challenges in mass-efficient packaging.
• Lead prototype-heavy development with hands-on analysis, testing, and flight-ready delivery.
