Job summary

Relativity Space, Inc. is seeking a Senior Avionics Mechanical Engineer to own the design, development, and delivery of mechanical hardware for next-generation space avionics platforms, including enclosures, mounting structures, and thermal solutions.

You will ensure flight-ready designs and solve thermal and structural challenges in a fast-paced, prototype-driven environment. You should have a Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 5+ years in aerospace mechanical design

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years in mechanical design, packaging, or thermal management for aerospace or ruggedized electronics.
  • Proven ability to deliver mechanical systems from concept through qualification and flight.
  • Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent) and analysis tools for structural and thermal performance.
  • Hands-on experience building, testing, and debugging hardware in a lab environment.
  • Strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, iterating team.

Responsibilities

  • Own the design, development, and delivery of mechanical hardware for next-generation avionics platforms (enclosures, mounting structures, thermal solutions).
  • Ensure flight-ready avionics mechanical systems and solve thermal/structural challenges in tight packaging.
  • Lead rapid iteration from first principles, perform analysis and testing, and deliver flight-ready solutions.
