Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics Integration and Test Engineer for the Engines Avionics team to own the integration and verification of engine avionics across hardware, FPGA, embedded software, and controls.

You will set verification strategy, author requirements and interface control documents, and lead integration campaigns from planning through closure. This role requires leadership, strong technical depth, and the ability to mentor others.

Qualifications

• BS degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with avionics disciplines across hardware, FPGA, embedded software, and control systems.
• Hands-on experience bringing up and troubleshooting electronic hardware.
• Experience with formalized verification activities and driving requirements to closure.
• Experience authoring requirements, interface control documents, or design documentation.
• Experience owning a technical scope end-to-end and mentoring others.
• Collaborative interactions with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Bring up and functionally test engine avionics units: first power-on, functional checkout, and troubleshooting across hardware, FPGA, embedded software, and controls boundaries.
• Set the verification strategy for avionics subsystems and lead verification campaigns from planning through closure.
• Define verification methods and expectations against requirements, author/test procedures, and drive requirements to closure.
• Author and maintain requirements, interface control documents, and design documentation for hardware, FPGA, software, and controls teams.
• Integrate avionics into the engine system and support stand/hot-fire campaigns, including test support and anomaly investigation.
• Represent integration/testability in cross-discipline architecture decisions spanning FPGA, software, controls, and hardware.
• Mentor engineers on verification practice, test execution, and troubleshooting technique.
