Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. is seeking an experienced Hardware Project Manager/Technical Program Manager to drive avionics hardware from concept to flight.

You will bridge engineering realities with mission milestones, coordinating Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality to deliver integrated hardware and software solutions. You will manage schedules, risk, and documentation, ensuring DFx reviews and flight readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 3–5+ years leading hardware development programs in high-reliability industries.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end hardware development lifecycle (PCB, prototype, qualification, manufacturing).
• Technical literacy across electrical engineering workflows and hardware integration.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across Hardware, Embedded Software, FPGA, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Integration & Test.
• Proficiency with Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet and PLM systems (Arena, Windchill, Agile PLM).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate avionics requirements into hardware development plans and work packages.
• Develop and own the integrated hardware development schedule through all phases.
• Drive milestone execution and mitigate schedule risks in agile or phase-gated processes.
• Lead cross-functional execution across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
• Support DFx reviews, production test development, and manufacturing readiness.
• Manage risk, ECOs, MRBs, and configuration control for hardware programs.
• Partner with Supply Chain on vendor selection, procurement, and production transition.
• Own BOMs, AMLs, part numbering, release management and design docs.
