Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Austin area seeks a Technical Project Manager for the Electrical Engineering group to own planning, scheduling, and execution for avionics development across product lines. You will report to the Director of Electrical Engineering and coordinate hardware, firmware, harnessing, launch vehicle systems, and spacecraft systems.

This hands-on role builds integrated schedules, tracks SRR/PDR/CDR/test campaigns, and ties avionics delivery to hardware constraints.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical project management or program integration for complex engineering systems.
• Experience building and maintaining integrated schedules for hardware or embedded development.
• Aerospace or space systems experience, especially avionics, electrical systems, or spacecraft operations.
• Proficiency with Atlassian tools Jira and Confluence.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; good communication.
• Basic Python and SQL for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain integrated schedules for avionics development across vehicle programs and IRAD.
• Manage schedules, backlogs, and risks for avionics teams across Hardware, Firmware, Harnessing, Launch Vehicle Systems, and Spacecraft Systems.
• Support staffing, budgeting, and capacity planning with clear program visibility.
• Track progress on architectural reuse and schedule SRR, PDR, CDR, test campaigns, and flight readiness milestones.
• Interface with Program Management to surface issues and drive resolutions.
• Maintain and automate program metrics dashboards using Python or SQL.
• Facilitate sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives for avionics teams using Agile or hybrid workflows.
• Maintain project information in the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence) and support proposal inputs/cost estimates as needed.
