Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join the Computing Products Department onsite. You will contribute to the hardware lifecycle for avionics computers, including design, integration, verification and factory transition.

This role requires hands-on troubleshooting, EMI/EMC control, and thermal management with avionics I/O such as Ethernet, ARINC 429, MIL-STD 1553, PCIe, plus strong cross-functional collaboration with Systems, Software, Mechanical,

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 5 years of experience or an advanced degree with 3 years of experience.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and integration experience.
• Experience with Avionics I/O (Ethernet, ARINC 429, MIL-STD 1553, PCIe).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze Circuit Card Assemblies for Avionics Computers.
• Lead integration and testing of hardware designs in lab with equipment.
• Schematic capture of digital/analog circuits.
• Oversight of PCB layout and DFM/DFT considerations.
• Design to Cost and Design for Manufacturing.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
