Job summary

Canvas Inc. is seeking a Senior Avionics Engineer to design, develop, and integrate advanced military electronic systems for airborne platforms at Robins AFB, GA, with remote work consideration for WPAFB.

The role emphasizes hardware/software integration and airworthiness compliance. You will collaborate with design, development, and test teams through reviews, verification, and certification processes, translating operational needs into robust specifications.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate required with ten years of DoD/USG ISR/SOF experience (five in DoD/USG).
• Or, bachelor’s degree with 12 years in the respective technical discipline, five of which in DoD/USG ISR/SOF.
• ABET accredited engineering program required; degrees in engineering technology not qualifying.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance for complex avionics hardware/software development.
• Participate in hardware evaluations, design reviews, and FAT/CDR activities.
• Develop standards and guidelines for system tasks and airworthiness criteria.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware/software specifications.
• Support systems engineering processes: planning, analysis, configuration management, verification & validation.
