Job summary

Astronautics Corporation of America is seeking an Avionics Principal Systems Engineer to lead avionics system architecture, design, implementation, lab/aircraft integration, testing and verification for major programs. This on-site role can be based in Oak Creek, WI or Phoenix, AZ, reporting to the Senior Manager, Systems Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Systems) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 10 years of systems engineering experience in avionics or complex aerospace systems.
• Experience with systems integration and requirements management tools (DOORS, ADO).
• Expertise with regulatory design guidelines (ARP4754B, DO-178B/C, DO-254, DO-160).

Responsibilities

• Lead top-level system architectures and define interfaces across avionics components.
• Define and allocate system requirements to subsystems with traceability.
• Oversee system integration and troubleshooting across multiple avionics subsystems.
• Direct verification methods (analysis, test, inspection, demonstration) and system-level tests.
• Mentor junior system engineers and align stakeholders including customers and suppliers.
• Interface with customers and participate in technical reviews and safety assessments.
