Job summary

RTX, through Collins Aerospace, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support traffic and weather avionics products in Melbourne, Florida. You will interpret and generate electrical schematics, collaborate across engineering disciplines, and drive hardware design and qualification through DO-254 or equivalent processes.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, validation, and cross-functional teamwork to ensure product quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience generating schematics and board layouts.
• Experience with embedded processors and RF systems.
• Hands-on debugging and testing of complex electrical hardware.
• Experience in at least one electrical hardware discipline (digital/analog/mixed-signal/power/RF).

Responsibilities

• Interpret, generate, and update electrical schematics, layouts, and drawings.
• Develop hardware requirement changes and manage baselines.
• Design, test, qualify, integrate, and document high-complexity hardware.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and manufacturing engineering.
• Support production, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical leadership.
• Contribute to engineering estimates and bid/schedule development.
