Protingent Staffing seeks an Aircraft Avionics Engineer for a contract-to-hire role at Patuxent River, MD. You will lead integration, testing, and troubleshooting of naval avionics and mission systems, working with engineering and program teams to ensure mission readiness.

The position requires a bachelor’s in engineering with 5+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in avionics systems. Security clearance may be required; onsite work only.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline plus 5 or more years of professional engineering experience.
• Avionics Expertise: Minimum of 3 years of direct experience with aircraft electrical and avionics systems integration, testing, or troubleshooting.
• Problem Solving & Teamwork: Strong technical foundation, a methodical approach to problem-solving, and excellent cross-functional communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Avionics Development & Integration: Oversee the development of advanced aircraft avionics and provide technical expertise to support system designs and platform integration efforts.
• Testing & Troubleshooting: Perform hands-on testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of avionics systems and their integration into military aircraft.
• Technical Review & Evaluation: Participate in the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process and evaluate vendor design and requirements documents for technical accuracy and compliance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively across engineering, maintenance, flight test, and program management teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure mission readiness.

Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity for an Aircraft Avionics Engineer supporting critical aviation and naval engineering efforts with our client located in Patuxent River, Maryland (Onsite).

Job Description

Join a dedicated engineering team supporting mission-critical naval aviation programs in the Patuxent River, MD area. In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to the integration, testing, troubleshooting, and sustainment of advanced aircraft avionics and mission systems. Working alongside experienced engineering and program professionals, you will contribute directly to naval aviation capabilities in a mission-focused environment.

Job Details

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Pay Rate Range: $44.00-$67.30/hr. Location: Patuxent River, MD (Onsite) Required US Citizenship -May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level.
