Job summary

Blue Origin Engineers division is hiring for an experienced electrical engineer to design avionics hardware for rocket engines. You will develop analog and digital circuits, boards and rugged assemblies throughout the product life-cycle and lead a capable team through design, testing and production release.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field with 7 years of professional experience in electronics hardware development.
• Demonstrated technical leadership in guiding project teams and mentoring junior engineers.
• Hands-on experience with analog and digital circuit design, analysis, testing and debugging.
• Expert knowledge of Op-Amp circuits in instrumentation measurements including scaling and active filters.
• Knowledge of signal integrity, power conversion, grounding, and board layout principles.
• Experience with electric motor drive circuits (EMA) is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork.
• Passion for Blue Origin’s mission to enable space.
• Preferred: space radiation environment design experience and high-rel reliability boards.

Responsibilities

• Electrical design of analog instrumentation measurement circuits for rocket engines.
• Electrical design of actuator circuits for solenoids or electromechanical servos.
• Interpret systems engineering and quality requirements for electrical development.
• Develop circuits, boards and rugged hardware across product life-cycle from concept to production release.
• Support risk analyses, DFx, FMECA and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.
• Manage design schedules of avionics subsystems.
• Routinely present program status and issues.
• Identify root cause failure modes using fault tree and fishbone methods.
