Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Component Engineer to advance EEE component standards in high-reliability avionics systems. You will collaborate with engineers, program managers, and suppliers to ensure quality and performance while supporting procurement and inventory management.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical depth in EEE components, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly across teams. A strong passion for safe human spaceflight is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years hands-on experience in component/parts management.
  • Experience with avionics hardware development and integration.
  • Ability to assess BOMs against vendor lists and standards.
  • Experience leading part advisories and change notices.
  • Willingness to travel to supplier locations in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize PLM features to improve visibility into the component approval lifecycle.
  • Lead program-wide component level assessment and evaluation.
  • Support sustaining engineering and obsolescence management for EEE parts.
  • Develop component level requirements and assist responsible engineer with solutions.
  • Develop value-added screening and qualification approaches.
  • Ensure compliance to EEE component requirements.
  • Lead sustainment activities and proactive obsolescence planning.
