Job summary

Jobtailor in Alabama seeks a senior EEE Component Manager to drive lifecycle management of avionics components and lead program-wide assessments. You will enforce baseline control and collaborate with engineers and suppliers to maintain component integrity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years in component and parts management or avionics hardware development, integration and/or test.
  • Ability to assess avionics Bills of Materials against approved vendor/component lists and standards.
  • Experience in a design, manufacturing, quality, or reliability capacity.
  • Ability to lead and investigate part advisories, product change notices, and alerts such as GIDEP and ECIA.
  • Experience managing part change notifications and assessing impact.
  • Experience with obsolescence management of EEE parts.

Job description

  • Utilize PLM software features to improve visibility into the product/component approval lifecycle
  • Lead program-wide component-level assessment and evaluation activities
  • Support sustaining engineering and obsolescence management for EEE components
  • Develop component-level requirements and assist responsible engineers with design solutions
  • Develop screening and qualification approaches and methodologies
  • Ensure compliance with EEE component requirements
  • Lead sustainment activities to maintain baseline control
  • Manage PCN/GIDEP activities and proactive obsolescence planning

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in component and parts management, avionics hardware development, integration, and/or test
  • Ability to assess avionics Bills of Materials against approved vendor/component parts lists and standards
  • Experience in a design, manufacturing, quality, or reliability capacity
  • Ability to lead and investigate part advisories, product change notices, and alerts such as GIDEP and ECIA
  • Experience managing part change notifications and assessing impact
  • Experience with obsolescence management of EEE parts
  • Ability to travel as needed to supplier locations throughout the U.S.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of exposure to semiconductor design/processing, component screening, accelerated testing, and reliability analysis
  • Preferred: Experience using commercial/automotive parts in aerospace applications
  • Familiarity with EEE Component aerospace requirements, including EEE-INST-002, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-981, and AEC-Q standards
  • Ability to acquire, evaluate, and explain Destructive Physical Analysis results, performance screening data, and component qualification artifacts from vendors
  • Experience developing and maintaining source control documentation for EEE components used in avionics/high-reliability designs
  • Experience acquiring and assessing PPAP documentation for automotive parts
  • Experience processing non-standard part approval requests and program waiver requests
  • U.S. citizenship or nationality, U.S. permanent residence, or lawful admission to the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers, program managers, and suppliers
